Many of us have grown up in the age of travel, traveling the world is much easier now than it ever has been and more of us are traveling further and further afield. We now visit places that 20 years ago we could only have dreamed of visiting, and then we return home wondering about what if we could live in a different country? Where would we go and what would we do, I would imagine that for the majority of people the places that they visit on their holidays are much more exciting than their home town. Because it is getting so much easier to get to far of places and the lines of communication are so much better it is so much easier for us to imagine living in a foreign land and getting away from the rat race, and not necessarily to earn more money, the vast majority of people who contemplate moving abroad site a change of lifestyle as the main reason for wanting to move. So what options have you got open to you if you want to make the move and live abroad?
You have more choice than ever before if you are serious about upping sticks and immigrating to foreign shores and because travel to these countries has become so much easier you can even look further afield than you may have chosen to do 15 years ago. Countries such as Spain and France have been popular with the British for a long time now, so much so that in many areas the locals have started calling districts “Little Britain” because of the amount of British that are living there. These areas are fine but many of these destinations have lost their feel and uniqueness as they have been changed by the amount of people who have moved to the area. If you are moving abroad simply for the better weather then you may enjoy living in an area full of people from your own country but if it is the lifestyle and country that you want to get away from chances are that you won’t want to be living in a village full of people from your home country.
Moving further afield alleviates this problem as many ex-pats tend to stick with what they know, as in Spain and France, but as we are now all holidaying in more and more exotic places and we become familiar with countries such as Thailand, Bulgaria, Turkey and Cyprus more and more people are having the confidence to move away to these countries. Thailand is probably the hardest country to move to but it is still fantastically cheap, offers a very relaxed way of life and the people are very accommodating and willing to help you fit in.
Although countries like Bulgaria, Turkey and Cyprus do have a larger population of ex-pats than Thailand they do not have the saturation levels that France and Spain do so are a good middle ground option, as well as this they also offer the perfect relaxed life that France and Spain have to offer but with the added bonus of property being somewhat cheaper.
For many people the ideal country to move to would have to be Australia, it has everything that you could ever want. The only problem is that moving to Australia can be extremely difficult as the government insist that you have to complete an application form to become a resident which is based on a points scoring basis. If the Australian government thinks they need someone in the country with your skills then you receive more points, if you are financially stable you also get more points and if you have a sponsor who will give you a job for a certain period of time then you will score more points again. All of this is to stop people flooding into Australia and putting a massive strain on their system, even though many of us would never stand a chance of being able to get enough points to be able to live there we still raise our hats to the Australian government for sticking to their guns and keeping the doors firmly shut, unless you have something to offer them.
For many people these reasons make moving to Australia even more attractive, not just anyone can get in, they have a sound policy on immigration, the climate, the lifestyle and the general ethics of the country appeal to so many people that if we could go anywhere we would be moving to Australia, somewhere on the coast and away from the big cities, somewhere like Warrnambool in Victoria.
Warrnambool is a beautiful little seaside town in the southern Victoria coast of Australia which prides itself on offering a tranquil community that offers something to do for everyone. That is why I would like to be moving to Australia and Warrnambool in particular.
